While the first design of Parra’s long-running collaboration with Nike – the legendary “Amsterdam” Air Max 1 – debuted in 2005, the collaboration with Nike SB has been a long time coming. Dutch artist Parra (1976) has deep roots in skateboarding, having started skating around 1988. He was a sponsored amateur (distribution stream) from the early 1990s to the early 2000s. After those formative and slightly competitive years, he focused on art and design, embarking on his journey with all the memories and heavy influence of skateboarding's golden age.
